Pure Gold of Psychoanalysis
Abstract
In this work, the changes that have occurred over the last 50 years are referred to: society has changed, patients have changed, and psychoanalysis is changing. As a treatment, psychoanalysis had its golden age when other forms of therapy were not available and pharmacological treatment was so widely publicized. Compared to the time of the founding of the Portuguese Society of Psychoanalysis, candidates for psychoanalysts today have difficulties in finding patients who are immediately available to begin a work with the frequency required for training supervision. The construction of the analytic patient is now an inevitable step before starting an analysis with intensive frequency. There is an entire world in change, yet the psychoanalytic essence is fundamentally kept intact, which is why the author titled this work: the pure gold of psychoanalysis.
